I don't think the DNC cares that Biden is the nominee. First, deep down they know that Trump is going to be reelected there isn't a candidate that can beat him. So they aren't worried about the skeletons in Biden's past. Second, they will be able to use Biden's short comings as the scapegoat for the landslide that they see coming.
Impeachment is/was all about trying to save some House and Senate seats, but it now seems even that strategy is failing. I just wish this was all happening in July so the low-information voters don't forget.
