My bro's wife's sister had exactly that happen to her... kicked out of a commune for no willingness to contribute. Her entire life she and her kids have been taken care of by the family. She's a pleasant person, but also the laziest person I know and unable to accept the responsibility and consequences of her actions or lack thereof.
