Sandbagger One, officially seconded to work with the enigmatic American intelligence organization named The Covert Fund, begins walking back the cat regarding the plot to compromise the Republican candidate in the recent U.S. presidential election and subsequent soft coup attempt after the Republican candidate was elected.
Investigating one thread of the plot, Sandbagger One and his new partner identify a mole embedded in the office of the President's National Security Adviser who is leaking information. After successfully running a blue dye operation to reveal the mole's handler, Sandbagger One and Condor, with the assistance of the new President, stage an incident that appears to implicate the President in a bribery scandal and arrange for the mole to "discover" the crime. The mole reports to his handler and the handler then contacts the coup plotters. The President and trusted aides pretend to cover up the bribery incident, the mole reports everything to his handler, and the coup plotters hatch a plan to have a phony "whistleblower" report the bribery and cover up which will then allow operatives and corrupt politicians to open official investigations with a goal of impeaching the President.
The operation successfully reveals scores of high-ranking government officials who falsify documentary "evidence" and provide false testimony, as well as revealing the corrupt elected officials who run the sham investigations. The plan is revealed during the impeachment trial when the surveillance video, phone conversations and electronic communications incriminating the plotters from the very beginning of the operation is dramatically presented to a nation-wide audience.
As the operation winds down, Sandbagger One and his new partner from The Covert Fund, pick up another clue that convinces them that there is more to discover about the organization behind the coup plotters and they go to London to follow the trail.
