I can't possibly be the only one here who thinks President Trump should put a temporary stop to people coming from the communist shithole China until they get that ? under control. We should call on him to act immediately because the media seems to be downplaying the seriousness of the situation.

Considering how fast the virus is spreading, I think we need a complete shutdown of any immigration till a cure is found.
You're right we shouldn't risk it. Especially since there's a incubation period of about week.
Now, I think we should do all we can for aid and helping to cure the virus, but from a slight distance.
In the meantime, get supplies. Masks, goggles, gloves, food that can last a while. We should always have these stocked, anyway. There are other reasons to have these at your house. Chemical spills, etc.
We have these things on hand at our house. We use the gloves for cooking. Non-perishable foods in case of a blackout. The masks are in case someone gets sick because we have someone with immune issues and we get dust storms now and then.
Masks are apparently sold out in China and on Amazon. Prob hoarding & profit making. Local stores prob. have them.
As a prepper, I never considered using gloves for cooking.
I usually just use meat and vegetables and such.
Not a cure but supportive treatment. Vaccines could be developed but the virus can mutate. With good supportive care, your body makes antibodies that fight the virus and them you become immune.
Globalism is a massive problem. These days you can just take a flight anywhere at a moment’s notice. How are you supposed to contain anything?
I even read about some dumb Chinese woman who took medication to cover up her fever so that she could get through the airport screening. Can’t miss that vacation!

The other comments here are right (and Scott Adams was wrong) that shutting down travel to/from China would be enough, at this point. It's already known to be in 9 other countries (including ours), and that will probably double in a few days. The good news is that it probably isn't as deadly as MERS or as spreadable as measles. The bad news is that the incubation period and masked symptoms increase risk, and China is, for sure, lying about numbers infected and fatality rates. It's too late to keep it out of the U.S.; we probably already have a couple hundred infected, and not all those will be correctly diagnosed as coronavirus vectors. If we see transmit rates or fatalities spike here, we'll have one shot at stopping it, but it will require closing the borders completely, including air and sea ports, and implementing social distancing for a couple weeks. At least we have the only individual in the WH who would even consider doing what would be necessary.

So agreed! People in China keep posting about devastating situation on the ground. It is already out of control in Wuhan. After the Chinese new year, when people start returning to big cities for work, it will be unimaginable. CCP media is supressing reports inside China, so a lot of people outside of Hunan think this is just flu instead of bio-engineered virus. They still go out, party, spreading the virus.
AFTER they knew about the outbreak Wuhan officials organized a community meal for 100,000 people!
