The other comments here are right (and Scott Adams was wrong) that shutting down travel to/from China would be enough, at this point. It's already known to be in 9 other countries (including ours), and that will probably double in a few days. The good news is that it probably isn't as deadly as MERS or as spreadable as measles. The bad news is that the incubation period and masked symptoms increase risk, and China is, for sure, lying about numbers infected and fatality rates. It's too late to keep it out of the U.S.; we probably already have a couple hundred infected, and not all those will be correctly diagnosed as coronavirus vectors. If we see transmit rates or fatalities spike here, we'll have one shot at stopping it, but it will require closing the borders completely, including air and sea ports, and implementing social distancing for a couple weeks. At least we have the only individual in the WH who would even consider doing what would be necessary.
