I'm really starting to think this shit is much much worse than anyone wants to let on. Meanwhile were still letting flights in from China and funneling passengers into our 5 biggest hub airports

So, IMO, which isn't scientific, but just aware of China....This has been going on for longer and is about 20 times as big as they are telling us. It's too late to contain any of it, and it's most likely all over the world now. If I was in a country like India or Japan where you are all crowded in big cities, I'd be worried.

The only good thing is that it won't kill Americans (in America) Ex: see all these other virus' we cure instantly when people come over for treatment, It aso isn't as deadly as the others were apparently.

Belleoffreedom 10 points ago +10 / -0

Bear in mind that they might be underreporting numbers of deaths.

9
TheNakedAmbassador 9 points ago +9 / -0

Definitely, their response doesn't seem proportional to 41 deaths.

Different flu strain appears, like it does every year

Quarantine a city of 18 million

City happens to have a pathogen research lab

HMMMMMmmmmmm....

1
OhLollyLollyPop 1 point ago +1 / -0

They have over half the country quarantined now. That's the best way to get containment.

They coverup. FOR SURE.

The table in this article says that 0 Americans died from SARS (and this virus is 70% similar to that one, according to the article about it, which I've linked in another comment here), but then the map down the page says that 4 people did -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Severe_acute_respiratory_syndrome#History

1
TopKeksWithFrens [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

The thing most people forget about SARS is it happened in 2003 and there was not the kind of international travel to and from China like there is today. Populations were also more isolated as they hadn't really started shipping people into cities and the people lived a bit more in rural areas

2
DanIsSwell 2 points ago +2 / -0

Plus, these things normally only kill people who are in weak health. Like, newborns and old people. This new one is killing medical staff.

2
Sumarongi 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ehh... there was plenty of air travel, international and domestic, in china the early 2000’s

1
TopKeksWithFrens [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

To the same extent?

3
Warskull 3 points ago +4 / -1

It is China, I guarantee it is much worse than China says. They don't give a shit about their people. They have 1.4 billion people. If half of them die they still have more than double the US. They probably see the deaths as a bonus.

Their primary concern is always how does the Chinese government look. Things will get bad in China.

At the same time, countries like the US are much better at fighting these things. It will get over here, but it going full epidemic in the US is iffy. Europe might be fucked, if this gets into their migrant population somehow there is no stopping it.

1
robroy76 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm really starting to think this shit is much much worse than anyone wants to let on.

I have heard that the China internet (the one controlled by Xi) is now seeing lots of posts saying the US created and deployed the virus.

If 10,000 die over this in China it will not be a big deal for the Chinese Government. If 10 million die they better have a fall guy ready.

Pretty sure this is just the beginning.

The number of cases & deaths they are reporting are lies.

6

Caronavirus is just a subtype of virus. It's like calling a car a Chevy. The Chinese are calling it wu-flu, so it's just a mutant strain of flu. Any other propaganda you hear is false fearmongering. You were told a week ago the deep state was running out of cash and we're going to tap big pharma. What better way than to vaccinate. You know what they put in the vaccinations. It's a double whammy if you get the shot.

11
TopKeksWithFrens [S] 11 points ago +11 / -0

I thought it's official name was the kung flu? Or winnie the flu?

1
flashersenpai 1 point ago +1 / -0

heh

4
TrumpVictorySouthIA 4 points ago +4 / -0

Coronaviruses are not influenzas. They're an entirely different, but related, family of viruses.

3
FancyBeerCoozyBeer 3 points ago +3 / -0

Spanish flu was just a flu and the worst pandemic since the bubonic plague. It killed 5% of the world population, infected 30% and killed more people that year than WW1 and probably put a stop to that war. The morbidity of this is way higher with a really long incubation period. and if you think the severity is lower than you're probably buying into Chinese propaganda. Back at the beginning it was 17 dead with 400 infected. That's nearly 5% fatal as reported by CHINA before it has even run it's course on those 400. The only real hope is that only the bad cases are reported, that is why it is spreading so quickly and why it is so fatal, because China is kind of the land of caring for your grandparents and really good soup. Seeing as how it is pretty clearly going to spread far and wide, I hope the number of videos of people cracking their heads open on the pavement is lower than the deaths. No government or government entity will EVER overblow a pandemic and that includes our own. The flu kills so many people every year. Ebola has shit on the flu.

1
ChrisTheSoberITGuy 1 point ago +1 / -0

This sounds like antivax propaganda

1
Sumarongi 1 point ago +1 / -0

What do they put in the vaccinations?

6
TopKeksWithFrens [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

Are there any HK pedes that can give us any insight into how things over there are? I don't trust Carrie Lamm to be upfront

4
OhioRiverGator 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's difficult to really know what is going on right now. There are a few posts on twitter today from Wuhan with videos of people collapsing in the street and overcrowded hospitals with dead bodies. Multiple nurses and doctors are expressing that they are overwhelmed by patients, with posts estimating the number of deaths as high as 100,000 people. It's impossible to know if that number is accurate but Wuhan is clearly experiencing a crisis right now.

3
bubblegummy 3 points ago +3 / -0

That is true. I'm on WeChat with a lot of people in china. Some people's families have been infected. Nobody can help them. Hospitals are lack of supplies. CCP media is suppressing reports of real numbers. Shanghai, Beijing...15 major cities and provinces are under complete siege. No public transportation in or out.

3
Hope 3 points ago +3 / -0

This video is long, 1 hour+, but interesting. I watched the first 20 min. tl/dr: The CCP arrested journalists & citizens for spreading false info. Doctors don't have proper PPE. Face masks sold out in China & on Amazon.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=546&v=lk5XkhUKMDM&feature=emb_logo

"My Chinese doctor friends have reached out, things are changing rapidly day to day, hour to hour, I would like to bring you up to date on everything I know with inside information that I'm getting from medical teams on the ground in China and all the significant developments."

100k for real? I wouldn't even think that

2
TDaccount841 2 points ago +2 / -0

Non-TD reddit has a post from an alleged Wuhan nurse saying 900k infected. She's completely anonymous so take with a grain of salt. But then again, I wouldn't put it past China to lie.

4
TopKeksWithFrens [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

I really hate to cite the nyt but...

"CHINA moves to restrict travel, including tours abroad. The Beijing city government also announced on Saturday that it would suspend all inter-province buses from Sunday, effectively limiting road travel into the capital.

XI WARNS OF GRAVE SITUATION"

Xi is admitting China doesn't have a handle on it. This must be very very bad

Any ideas how it started?

12
TopKeksWithFrens [S] 12 points ago +12 / -0

Chinese eat poo out of sewers theory, fish market selling bats theory, and the one I'm leaning towards, the oops we let a super plague virus out of our shittily built level 4 biohazard lab which just so happens to be 8 miles from the "epicenter" fish market.

8
katsumi27 8 points ago +9 / -1

Microbiologist here. If I was going to start a huge outbreak via bioterrorism, I would create a virus that infects easily and quickly before symptoms start. Then I would infect volunteers and send them across the global to the busiest airports.

This isn’t an accident. It’s been planned.

5
BeekeepingPatriot 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yeah I played that game too pandemic or something? If the virus was too lethal too early it would be noticed and quarantined then I could never get to those pesky island nations that had closed borders and travel.

1
OhLollyLollyPop 1 point ago +1 / -0

I thought it was interesting that NK shut down their country to all outsiders at the beginning of last week.

4
blubberdong 4 points ago +4 / -0

My thoughts exactly. Watch out for dems in bio suits hanging out at Trump rallies.

3
Hope 3 points ago +4 / -1

2 Chinese scientists and their team of Chinese students were escorted out of a Level 4 bio lab in Winnipeg, Canada last summer by the RCMP. No reasons released to the public. Later in 2019 Canada sent deadly viruses to China for study.

The whole thing may be nothing but scare mongering to sell us their vaccines, but there are more oddities to the story. For example Brennan recently used the word "contagion" in a tweet about the danger of POTUS. There is a 2011 film called Contagion that follows the plot of a virus starting in Hong Kong and killing millions ww.

spez: tons more info on chans. Virus is patented to Gates & friends, NY held a drill 3 months ago on this exact scenario, etc.

2
flashersenpai 2 points ago +2 / -0

Dude you gotta figure out the point where you go into la la land. Brennan saying the word contagion isn't a dog whistle.

1
OhLollyLollyPop 1 point ago +1 / -0

Gates. He believes in wiping out a large part of the population of the earth.

5
Tellman125 5 points ago +5 / -0

How can a virus be let out of a building? Like it was a giant vaporized cloud in a room and someone opened the window as a bunch of people were walking by?

11
Covfefe_Crusader 11 points ago +11 / -0

Scientist/janitor/other worker doesn't follow protocol, comes in contact with or is infected by the virus, goes to lunch and bumps into/sneezes on someone or some thing and the party starts.

Because it was made in china?

1
DanIsSwell 1 point ago +1 / -0

Something made in China, that’s an original design and actually works? Such a fluke, it could only happen in end times.

1
DanIsSwell 1 point ago +1 / -0

Also this: known in Sichuan cuisine is a soup made from undigested mosquito from bat droppings.

At this point, I think if a homeless man were pooping on the side walk, a Chinese person would crouch behind them, catching it in their mouth.

Some notes (CoV = coronavirus) -

Chinese scientists isolated a new strain of coronavirus – given the initial designation of 2019-nCoV – which has been found to be at least 70 percent similar in genome sequence to SARS-CoV.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019%E2%80%9320_Wuhan_coronavirus_outbreak

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is a viral respiratory disease of zoonotic origin caused by the SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV). Between November 2002 and July 2003, an outbreak of SARS in southern China caused an eventual 8,098 cases, resulting in 774 deaths reported in 17 countries,[1] with the majority of cases in China mainland and Hong Kong[2] (9.6% fatality rate) according to the World Health Organization (WHO).[2]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Severe_acute_respiratory_syndrome-related_coronavirus

1
OhLollyLollyPop 1 point ago +1 / -0

9.6% fatalities is significantly higher than the 4-4.5% they were saying 2 days ago.

Apparently it is easily transmitted, too.
