The family of coronaviruses are very common. I believe there are 6 or 7 types of them. You’ve probably been sick via a Coronavirus at some point in your life. This one happens to be a new type of virus in this same family. If you are a healthy individual you don’t have anything to worry about. People who are susceptible to complications from sickness in general (old people, babies/very young people, and immunocompromised) could have complications/death from this as they could from any other type of common virus. In recent years (in the USA ONLY) deaths from the flu have ranged from 12,000 to 56,000 people in the worst year. Imagine if the media reported every single confirmed case of the flu and subsequently every death.
This is a good point. I often say if the media reported every time a person was struck by lightning, there would be a state of emergency declared every time there was a thunder storm.
I already have cancer so it would definitely kill me. But I'm fine with that, I'd rather be with my husband again.
This is a particular strain of coronaviruses that has killed 3 out of 10 people. That is worrisome, if true
3 out of 100 (3%) based on the reported numbers by Johns Hopkins University
