50 million out of 1 billion died in 1918 from 300 million infected. It's too complicated for me to dispute, but 30 million today seems like horseshit.

Different bugs, different lethalities, MUCH better care.

Apparently China is using Tamiflu and fluoroquinolones to treat infections -- the Tamiflu as an antiviral, and the fluoroquinolones to hold off any opportunistic bacterial infections. They have also been using two antiretrovirals and claim some success with those.

I personally would suggest ANY other category of antibiotic, because fluoroquinolones are some nasty, damaging shit. They're using azithromycin instead on some patients. That at least doesn't damage heart valves. . . .
