Going by the morbidity and incubation period, it doesn't look like China is going to be alone in dealing with it. Going by how long a vaccine takes, it's possible but really unlikely that only they feel the brunt of it. The mortality rate is what is unknown. It can't be lower than any stated figure. There is a delay in contracting the disease and knowing you have it and then eventually dying, probably slowly, of pneumonia. If you want to take death figures 2 weeks out and apply them to now, you'd be terrified. If only bad cases are reported, that could also mean the opposite and we are all freaking out over nothing. China has a huge quarantine and it won't work, but the fact they are doing it anyways is telling. If we can get one running sample and count the infection-free survivors after a set amount of time, then we can know what we are actually dealing with. Any and all fear mongering is valid untill we know that. The CDC and any government will never stir a panic. The media will and they have plenty of stuff that looks bad. It's good to pay attention. I know they're full of shit sensationalists, but that is for a narrative. They don't need to fabricate stuff when the internet can do that just fine.
