It depends upon your computing platform, length/complexity of your project, video codecs required, preferred editing ‘workflow’, budget, commitment to Free & Open Source Software, and desire for simplicity or composing power.

openshot : https://www.openshot.org/ works good for quick basic stuff.
olive : https://www.olivevideoeditor.org/ has more features and seems to run faster.
kdenlive: https://kdenlive.org/en/ Probably has the most features but crashed a lot when I used it and seems to use the most resources. Maybe now it is better but openshot and olive work good enough for me right now.
Adobe. If you want the best you have to pay (through the nose) for it.

so I use openshot, olive and natron but I am not a expert or anything.
