I am on a business trip. I told the people I'm meeting about this man, and they said they just "loved our vibrant culture". This was not some sarcastic comment. They think this person is just having fun. Guy was severely mentally ill, shit dripping down his legs, walking around delirious in a diaper. He has probably been raped.

I'm in Portland and the place used to be great fun (when I was 20!) because nobody blinked an eye at someone in a rabbit suit or whatever thing. Every day was like Halloween, as the song went, and all was grand. Of course, I was living of my trust fund and had no fucking clue about what brutal shit the world had in store for me (once that fund ran out! JC, the stories I could tell).
Point being, I'm a pretty faced girl (if I do say so myself) so it's particularly frightening for me to walk around and have these freaks all over the place.
Not a fan of total conformity and the blandness of that of clearly .... Clearly! SF and PDX have gone too far. Then again, the oly solution seems to be opening back up the mental institutes and having the boys in white released with butterfly nets. Tee hee
