You know, you're right. Perhaps he'll even end up taking advantage of GEOTUS' new "right-to-try" legislation. Negativity won't help. He's going to fight, and we're all backing him.
Incidentally, I'm listening to Hannity right now and he started by playing Rush's announcement, and then came on, sounding like he was choking back tears. Now he has Mark Levin on the phone, who sounds like he's crying. This sucks, but if GEOTUS' election taught us anything, it should be to NEVER give up.

I was raised with the TV telling me he was evil. People rejoiced when he had a pill addiction, I imagine they will rejoice he is ill again. I was so young and blind then, Rush helped me see the light. Sad news.

Rush Limbaugh has been the one who filled Milton Friedman's role since he stepped away and passed on. He spoke to the regular people in the US when there was no one speaking to them.
I'm 54, and just last night I was telling someone that I very distinctly remember the first moment of my political awakening. I was in my 20s and I happened upon Rush's program on the radio. I had heard he was a literal Nazi and white supremacist, and I was just curious to hear what a train wreck he'd be. So I listened. He was talking about Hillary Clinton. I don't remember exactly what he was saying; I imagine it was about her desire to create a single-payer health regime for the country from her perch as First Lady. But what I remember most is that he was making fun of her. Making fun of her! A leftist! A democrat! He DARED! I grew up in NYC and it would have been unthinkable for most people to not be deferential to her. Just the guts the guy had -- the glee he had in needling her -- it changed me that day. And I also realized that day that the whole story about him being a Nazi and a racist was a lie. A balls-out lie. And I started wondering what other "truths" I'd been fed that were obvious lies and doublespeak. And that changed me too. Thank you, Rush.
Ditto! I started listen to Rush in my twenties and I'm now 55, there was no other shows like his on a national level when he started, he played a pivotal role in the conservative movement no telling where this country would be had he not came along when he did. Always love his comedy bits from the homeless update to the Slick Willie update, SUV update and the Congressional post office scandal. I have plans many of my lunches around his show for many years. I hope there are many more years of Rush.
I'm your age and I remember in my 20's I was detailing my cousin's car for her birthday and was flipping through the dial and I heard this guy talking about "scrools". That piqued my interest and I kept listening and the whole time I was thinking this guy is saying what I'm always thinking. And he was funny and entertaining.
When my cousin came to get her car I asked if she ever heard of this Rush guy and she said, "Yeah, he's funny. I heard him the other day." For some reason that's always stuck with me. Been listenin' ever since.

This brings so much sadness. At the same time I am thankful both Rush and I believe in Jesus and I know someday, be that sooner or later, I will meet him along with many other amazing men and woman.
My earliest memories of Rush are when he was just being broadcast across the US. I was about 16 and that summer my father had me and my sister paint at the farm. I would turn Rush at at 11 and listen for three hours while my sibling complained and then turn it to another station that broadcasted an hr later and listen to the last hr again. Boy did my sister complain then! (On a side note she is almost as conservative as me now.) I’ve listened to Rush for almost 25 yrs. It will be a very sad day when we no longer will hear him take on the left “with one hand tied behind his back” ?. Get well Rush.

That's a clever way to get back at them. My father died of lung cancer in 2001. The left's hateful words mean nothing. Rush is in the hands of the Lord, and knows how many love him.
No one else compares to Rush in the conservative movement so this is very sad news to hear.

I started listening to Rush sometime in 1991 when I moved to Michigan, I was on the road a lot back then and was always searching for the next station that carried Rush. At the time, Rush rooms were being tried, but it didn't last too long. I believe they had just topped 600 stations at the time. Now he didn't need to persuade me to be conservative. It was just nice to hear a radio personality say what I already knew.

Yes, as someone who remembers him from my childhood, it is a little shocking to realize that I was just taking for granted he would always be around. Unfortunately, as we all know, the survival odds for advanced lung cancer are not great, but I definitely hope that he does beat the odds. I hope the treatments aren't too hard on him and that he does live long and well in spite of this diagnosis.
