The impeachment did not go the way you were after but at least you managed to delay it until after the Iowa caucus and the SOTU address. Give time for people to sour.

Then the IOWA Caucus is an unmitigated disaster that makes your whole party look like clowns.

But your guy come in wearing white to upset Trump (for some reason). You snub him with introducing him disrespectfully, then he snubs you back and leaves you hanging on the handshake.

Then he delivers a brilliant state of the union address that is positive and contrasts so terribly against your trainwreck caucus. You rip up your SOTU speech in hope it will rally your base some as showing yo as defiant, but it makes you look weak and vindictive.

Tomorrow your impeachment is going to be put to the sword and the SOTU address may even win some moderate democrats over.

You can't compete and you own yourself when you try.
