The conservative Utah Republican Party tried to use a caucus system to block Romney from ‘purchasing’ the Utah senate seat.
He leveraged his niece Ronna Romney McDaniel’s power as chairwoman of the Republican National Committee to help get the Utah governor and solidly Republican Party legislature to pass laws allowing all political candidates to bypass the default caucus system and instead compete in primary elections, and got the date of the primary set in March.
He then leveraged a media persona that he had built during Salt Lake City’s 2002 Olympics, where he was brought in to help ‘fix’ a bribery scandal, which he did by assembling his globalist corporate superfriends for sponsorship money, selling out Utah citizen’s second amendment and fourth amendment rights for the benefit of foreigners and intelligence agencies, and redirecting public ‘Olympic Spirit’ goodwill into his own personal publicity campaign.
The media basically presented his Senate election to the general population as an inevitability, and failed to report or even mention numerous ethical issues found by opposition research from 2012.
You’ve seen the hypocritical way he positions himself as the quintessential ‘Mild Mormon Man of Faith’ and uses this as a shield against justifying his actions - Mormons were particularly susceptible to this, especially in light of the skewed media coverage from the ‘fixing the bribery scandal’ image everyone needed to present to themselves from 2002, and his nationwide publicity as an ‘honorable loser’ to Obama.

Ezra Taft Benson was extremely based.
I'm sure that the Mormons will be able to find a replacement that isn't a cocksuckingtraitorpeiceofgarbage.
If they keep Romney in office they can kiss my tourist dollars goodbye.
Bring him down like an elevator
Utah is the trailer park of the west....so there's that.
You can count Utah as a blue state. Nothing conservative about the way they vote.
Think China would pay top dollar for Utah? It's hardly been used.
I'm sure the Mormons and the Chinese Communists will get along very well.
Just re-assign the 50th state to Guam.
