Up vote that! Where is he wrong? What should he do? Well, first, turn off the TV, especially that CNN, which they call the communist news network. Then continue to plan for his future, diligently constructing and daily adding to a self sustaining support structure. Frankly, I wouldn't know how the Democrat does that, other than political parasitism, but I am sure there are ways. That's what we are doing.

I'm pragmatic. When I come across a Leftist, I know there's no point in convincing them with argument. Their outputs (thoughts, words and actions) are different to mine because they have different inputs:

It tells people what to think, and it tells them how to think. This is why teachers bemoan students' inability to think critically right up to university years and beyond. Thoughts control words, and actions. It's an artificial reality; a contrived history and uncertain future which paralyses people with fear and dread. It's the pure strength of all pervasive Signal that allows so many people to remain deep in the grips of cognitive dissonance. And because we're simple meat puppets, our brains become locked into certain pathways the longer they think them. My father is in his 70s, and I cannot get him to stop reading the newspaper and repeating biased statements lifted word for word from an article by a 23 year old lefty journalist - someone that he would laugh at if the same drivel was said to him in the street. He's been conditioned his entire life to believe newspapers.
It's not that I disregard all of the above information, I am just aware of the duplicity and agenda, and that almost everything that is published is tainted (least because the author is a product of The Signal too). I use other sources of information - totally (horrifically in many cases) unfiltered. I parse papers from Chinese researchers on genetic differentiation who are unfettered by Western notions of ethics or the miasma of "racial tension". I don't read the abstracts without at least reading the methodology. Because of that, I now have an entirely different world view to the garden variety Leftist - a world view where nothing published can be taken at face value anymore, and where no "authority" can be trusted absolutely.
Morpheus doesn't tell Neo about the Matrix until he's out of it; it would be futile to convince him from the inside. Likewise, we will never turn Leftists or find common ground until they become aware of "the Signal" and choose to ignore it.
