I remember as a kid seeing the pleas to help feed the children. That was 40 fucking years ago and its never gotten better. Tell me again why we need cultural enrichment from these other countries that cant even grow fucking food.
There's a guy in locust-ridden part of China who decided to raise 300,000 chickens and set them loose on the countryside. He says he fed them zero feed all summer, so they would eat the locusts. He only started to feed them off the back of a tractor when the locusts froze/went dormant. It worked. He plans to expand his operations 3x next year. That's a lot of eggs to gather in open fields, though.

The desert locusts are typically shy, solitary insects that become very aggressive when in crowds.
