It's really hard to focus on writing code in these distracting open-office environments. People talking, eating, clattering keyboards, and fog machine leaf blowers always kill my productivity.

You’re missing the wider point. Bureaucratic incompetence, secrecy, then the issue is out of control. They refuse help. The world suffers because of it. And they’ll end up fucking themselves.

I did notice the huge SO2 plumes from Wuhan on windy.com, and the Tencent app glitch showing much higher numbers of infected/dead, and the leaks from morgue workers about actual numbers. It's hard to know how bad they've messed up with this virus, but no doubt they have messed up, mostly to save face it seems. They punished the doctor who brought attention to the virus, and he later died from it. Insanity.

Chernobyl was the tipping point for an already weakened Soviet Union. Months later, the USSR fell. China is faltering, her economy is crippled, and this poorly managed outbreak, complete with lies and obfuscation, may very well be China's Chernobyl. Nothing against the Chinese people, but as far as their government? One can only hope! . . . And good riddance.

In the most farsical sense. Like an ineffective clown. A hazmatted Harpo Marx honking through human resources in Hong Kong.

i also heard it is cockroach spray. Or at least it resembles pest spray in every way and also makes pests die. So.

Maybe it's transmitted via fleas or something like the plague, and not by contact? More likely it's just theater.

It's airborne now. Has been since at least one mutation.

That's what I have read, too. Just speculating.
