What I will say is that they never should have been here. The whites in the north weren't necessarily opposed to slavery because they were nice people. They simply knew that was a culture not compatible with ours and they didn't want them being imported. The racist southern "Democrats" really fucked us over good, not to mention the evil they perptrated against blacks.
Dude. It was largely the Whites in the North who brought the slaves here after buying them from the winning African tribes who captured them for the traders.
The slave ships docked in the North - a NY harbor? Can't remember exactly.
Blacks are still enslaved by Muslim Blacks & Arabs to this very day, btw.
