Aussie here, it's even funnier than that, the remaining fires were put out last week by some storms, so now the climate cult is blaming those storms on global warming too.
Australia has always had bush fires, some of our species of trees even need fires to reproduce and they give off flammable oil. Comically those same tress now cover California, they were adopted there due to their fast growth, guess someone forgot to mention the flammability problem.
This latest climate whinge here in Australia has red pilled a fair few people, it is so obvious how the climate cult is manipulating anything that happens to benefit them. They want power, nothing more and are using climate alarmism to try and get it.
This is exactly right. In Malibu, CA there are lots of eucalyptus trees and perhaps other species which have adapted to drop their seeds after a fire in order to reach fertile soil. And, yes, when those fires happen the reporting is always apocalyptic.
I'm in Melbourne too, it is the most left city in Australia so they will fit in. The attitude here with regular people is not really much about why the fires happened, people do expect them but the first thought is to help out the people affected.
The left here and the majority of the media are beating the global warming drum, most young people just accept that. It doesn't work on the older population because bush fires are something that have happened since before Europeans arrived in Australia.
Some of the fires were intentionally set but not all of them, that information also doesn't feature heavily in the leftist media. Likewise the history of our bush fires is not covered much in the leftist media so as to give the false impression things are getting worse, when this is not true.
