I'm in Melbourne too, it is the most left city in Australia so they will fit in. The attitude here with regular people is not really much about why the fires happened, people do expect them but the first thought is to help out the people affected.

The left here and the majority of the media are beating the global warming drum, most young people just accept that. It doesn't work on the older population because bush fires are something that have happened since before Europeans arrived in Australia.

Some of the fires were intentionally set but not all of them, that information also doesn't feature heavily in the leftist media. Likewise the history of our bush fires is not covered much in the leftist media so as to give the false impression things are getting worse, when this is not true.
