He doesn't appear to be connecting with the electorate; and yet, he seems to be garnering his popularity from some mysterious source. Buttigieg is basically the "none of the above" vote in the Democratic primary. He's just a guy who talks about being gay. That's it. He isn't geriatric, a substantial politician (i.e. federal), or a billionaire. That's his selling point.
