I was a boy scout too and I can't tell you how much it helped me. I moved around a lot as a kid and it gave me a solid foundation for an opportunity to make friends and play as boys do. I was in a area in what seems like every year growing up. I went to many different schools by the time I graduated and there was no other way I could have made friends otherwise.
They should have left it the way it's always been; a club for boys with upstanding men as their leaders. Boys only learn how to be a man from real masculine men.
Though my father is a patriot and a man that I respect deeply, he wasn't home most of my childhood because he worked a lot, so yes, having a man that was a normal man as the den leader was like having a second dad to confide in.

Mine took Cheer, gymnastics, played soccer (all of them!), T-ball, football & baseball, basketball, Lacrosse, all thru school, + various after-school non-sports activities as they got older. One parent/gparent/aunt or uncle were always present.
As the older ones came of age, they could babysit at home but we never put the younger ones sports obligations on our teens. At times we needed all 4 gparents' help if events overlapped time-wise, but that was a rarity. Our kids always had an adult who loves them present. It isn't hard, just takes planning.

Then there was the admission of girls. BSA was never a camping club, it was intended to mold boys into honorable men.
The problem wasn't gay scout leaders. The problem was pedophile scout leaders and outwardly queer scout leaders. Big differences. Boys in boy scouts are trying to figure out how to be MEN, not how to be wildly defective men

They forgot their core membership: traditional church-going families. This isn't the "woke" crowd. Now these people are leaving them behind, at least the ones who stayed once they gave up on excluding gay scout masters.
Oh, I agree completely. Its a multi-faceted issue related to the collapse of the middle class, traditional families, recreation activities, food habits, and (although I am not a believer) gradual erasing of Christianity.
The end result is going to be a further separation of people on ideological lines, there is no turning back, and those of us who see it coming are preparing their families accordingly.

Then the pack leader was a full blown communist but to be fair you'd never know it at the meetings but on the fakebook was a different story. Full blown TDS, anti gun and still slept with his kids at night.
So we left. I'd like to find a pack and do the stuff that they do but we can do it on our own too. I'd like to have a more social only child though but am in a spot that I just don't know that I want to be a part of that organization and more importantly him being a part of it. Looking at the older kids in it they were very feminized, nerdy, betas.... not what I see in his future nor am I going to nurture him to turn into.

Background checks, training, reporting, etc. Instead they lost the moral highground and then let legal activists sue them into complacency with the LGBTQ agenda. Even so, I'm still holding onto my Eagle Scout patch, if only to remember the ideas that the organization was supposed to uphold. It's not the organization that matters, it's the ideals originally behind it and the community formed to teach those ideals to young men like myself. The Scout Oath and Scout Law were ingrained into me ever since I joined, and I'll follow it even if the leftists/molesters abandon those principles and destroy the once great organization. And after it's destruction, I guess all we can do is build something to continue to teach the ideas of duty to God, country, and others to the next generation, whether through a wider organization, within our own communities, or simply from father to son.
Why has no boy tried to join the girl scouts yet? It's weird. Don't you think some attention grabbing parent of some boy or 'transgender' kid would have done this already? It's kinda suspicious.
A once proud organization has now been converted to PR Soouts, Pedophile Recruitment Scouts. And they show no preference to either male or female recruiters.

Now this is a sad curiosity, the Death of the B.S.A. Even more odd, my small hamlet has a perfectly find Cub Scout Program, and [once?]Boy Scout unit. Lets see what becomes of them.
The Question remains-- can someone or someones- pick up the pieces and go back to circa 1930, and start all over again, the Right Way? This is the Programme that gave us the soldiers of WW01 and WW02, Korea & VietNam, and a few good Presidents, I think. My fatherless great grand son, now 03 yrs. Mine were huge by the time they were in middle school. We're all tall - but one of my sons is 6'9" and is only 18. His twin sister is 5'11".

I got my Eagle in 2014, and my troop still did all of that shit. Unfortunately I think we were the exception rather than the rule.
