I paid mine off in under 10 years by doubling/tripling payments, plus I only took out 3 of them as I worked during college. I couldn't work during clinicals nor during one other particularly tough semester, hence the loans.

We did the same with our home, paid a 30 yr loan in just over 13.

Thing is, in order to do that you have to work - we both worked liked dogs, but were able to retire early to enjoy the fruits of our labor. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
