The law about not allowing student loan takers to bankrupt seems really weird.

Might it make sense to "invalidate" that law for any student loans taken after a certain date, for instance May 2020? That would discourage student loan givers to give out loans to students that they would not believe would have a good chance of paying back and not defaulting, and possibly encourage some overall healthier loans, such as requiring assets to be given as guarantee, etc., like for regular loans. Of course, it might also result in very few student loans being given out, which may be a healthier alternative. And it may result in more side jobs being taken by students, students being much more careful with which study to take, less predation on students, etc.).

It would not solve the issue for existing student loan takers, but it might put a plug in the issues reg. the current system.
