I think you're right. It's sad to see, but it's something we should have expected. They can't win fairly.

Actually, I take that back: The left doesn't care about winning or losing. They care only about eradicating their opposition. It was never about "winning in the arena of ideas" with them so much as eliminating wrongthink. The "liberal" label they adopted was only done long enough such that they could shift the Overton window closer toward cultural marxism.

Hence why I think you're absolutely correct. It wasn't ever about banning so much as replacing.
