I apologize if this is inappropriate to post here. Please feel free to delete it...I'm a lifelong democrat who's recently decided to leave the Democratic Party. It's become a joke and I no longer wish to be associated with it. The impeachment hearing is what really pushed me over the edge. I can't believe i'm going to say this, but I plan on supporting Trump this coming election. I'm currently trying to educate myself more about the Republican Party... If anyone has any suggestions for books, news sources, or podcasts, I'd greatly appreciate it! I'm honestly starting from the very beginning here and I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed...

Personally, I once considered myself moderate, though I've always thought the government should be run more like a business.
The national debt is crazy and there needs to be a balanced budget amendment to ensure congress doesn't spend money like crazy.
But the left has gone off the rails. They aren't the party of JFK, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
What really pushed me over the edge and ensured I will vote Republican for the rest of my life was the Kavanaugh hearings.
The dems put that lying bitch on the stand and just ate up everything she said.
None of her story was backed up by any facts, evidence, or witness testimony.
Where as Kavanaugh had all of that, plus a diary that he's kept since he was a kid. Think about it, this man wrote down everything he did, every single day, and it still wasn't enough to "prove his innocence" in their eyes.
As if someone has to prove their innocence.
In the United States you are innocent and remain innocent until proven guilty.
After seeing what they did to him and his family and after everything they've done to Trump, I can never vote for a democrat again in my life.
If they can do that to Kavanaugh, what do you think they'll do to people like you and me?
Well said! I admit I didn't follow the hearing as closely as I should have, but I do remember thinking how ridiculous it was...I'm so glad I woke up.
