As seen in the title, if you click a link to reddit that's posted here, it is sort of possible for them to track it. But thankfully it's one of the least reliable forms of tracking, it's also pretty easy to disable.

You may be wondering why you'd want to do this. The easiest answer, is reddit may start blocking us from viewing content if that content was linked from here. They can sure try, but if we disable our referrer, we'll be like any other request that doesn't have a referrer(about half of all of them usually don't), and there's nothing for them to block, without also blocking normal users.

Here's how:

Chrome:

Download this extension. When installed, open it's settings page, Click the import button at the bottom, and paste these settings:

[{"id":"defaultAction","val":"dummy","type":"normal","filter":"","is3rd":true},{"id":1582815425973,"val":"reddit.com","type":"normal","filter":"","isregexp":false,"is3rd":true,"isfrom":true,"isto":true},{"id":1582815604648,"val":"","type":"normal","filter":"","isregexp":false,"is3rd":false,"isfrom":true,"isto":true}]

Firefox

in a new tab navigate to about:config, search for the setting network.http.sendRefererHeader and set it to 0. Restart firefox.

Good luck pedes
