Those places are for those down on their luck. Better someone who is trying hard uses them than some druggy that is using it to save more money for drugs.
The flu is like a generic term anymore for a virus. Kinda like how you can ask for a Kleenex and everyone knows you mean a tissue. Winnie because of the cartoon bear meme.
Probably because it originated in China...and the Chinese leader Xi looks like Whinnie the Pooh...and Whinnie the Flu is catchy...where "Whinnie the Corona", not so much.

You need food, not masks. Have some cans of stuff stashed away for emergencies.
Right now food is easy to find and stock up on. Masks are already out. Certain supplies run out before others.
