The media really went from 0 to 60 on this. They should have done their jobs and kept people apprised on what's happening, but advise cool heads. I'd say on a scale of 1 to 10, we should be worried at about a 3.
I think people should be seriously concerned about this. It's not going to end civilization but the store runs and fights will be real. Likely to have areas isolated so no supplies moving. It has between a 2%-10% mortality rate according to Chinese numbers.
Most of the US does not have the same population density or public transportation as China. We also have better hospitals, less air pollution, and fewer smokers.
Even if it does hit us, I’m not sure it will hit us nearly as hard. The economic impact of all these Asian countries being hit might be a problem though.
At least we’ll be fine on food, though stocking up is never a bad idea...
100% on the hospitals, but on population density, Wuhan and Hubei province are definitely more more comparable to American metropolitan areas than Beijing.
