This site is doing what it was meant to do. If anyone here thinks letting reddit get away with what they did, without at least attempting to draw attention to it, is the way to go... are you sure you belong here at all? The asswipes who run their marketing departments are a bunch of fucking idiots who think blue haired landwhales with nose rings are their core customers. See, e.g. Nike and P&G. So when Reddit or Twitter or YouTube serves up user generated content with something that says “Please kindly restrict immigration so as to prevent my home from turning into the third world” and a McDonalds ad appears next to that content, a handful of harpies screen cap it and bitch. The advertisers then bitch to the social media companies. So yes, Reddit sucks, but that shit is just the tip of the damned iceberg.
Advertising compromises media and social media isn’t immune. And every institution that isn’t expressly right wing will eventually be co-opted by leftists. It sucks, but that’s the world we live in. God bless the mods.
