In real science, the sex is determined by the presence or absence of a Y chromosome. So an XO, XXX, XXXX... and so on is Female, and XXY, XXXY, XXXXY and so on is Male.
These people also have other issues. Occasionally someone will be mosaic, and have cells with different chromosomes but I have never heard of someone having male and female cells, though I am sure it is possible, it would be exceptionally rare.
