The funny thing is a forced "transition" is how they treat gays/lesbians in Iran. It's forbidden and punishable by death, so if caught in an illegal relationship, they have to undergo sex reassignment to "cure" themselves of gender dysphoria and become the "woman" or "man" in a straight relationship, lest they want to be stoned or thrown off a rooftop. It's not "progressive", it's barbaric. Yet, there are people on the left willing to view it as the former- and "enlightened" policy. Hogwash. It's a perfect example of a government/society completely NOT accepting someone as they are. Why would people in the West feed into this sort of unhealthy thing? Not to mention it opens the door for oppurtunists to screw over women, especially in physical things like sports competition or wherever the sexes should be alotted their own exclusive domains.
