Why do we have downvoting at all?
Only with comments to give the users here some degree of control of what is posted. I have some kind of script or bot after me that immediately downvotes every comment I post here. Very annoying, and frankly, I'm becoming quite tired of it.
This why I’m for removing downvotes period. It just allows for artificial manipulation and popularity contests. Good comments will notable by shear upvotes, downvotes are double dipping.
Downvotes on comments is a rapid fire way to identify and deport shills.
I disagree, I’ve seen shills mass downvote comments and at other times somebody with a differing opinion simply gets massive downvotes because of the group who was looking at the thread. The downvote button imo is simply too abusable.
I'm torn on it because having downvoting makes it easier to flag bot accounts, shills and trolls. Apparently these neckbeards even have to come here to downvote.
