So many I met down in TX went absolutely insane around the 4th of july, my next door neighbor used to get cases of microbrew and Budweiser, char some meat and sing patriotic songs on the back of his truck wasted as hell, he immigrated from Mexico legally about a decade before and never stopped loving America!
It takes balls of steel and a fuckton of patience to stand in the line. Believe me, the hardwork and respect for the land n people that ensues are well deserved.
Hard work, months/years of going through the process, countless forms, embassy visits, interviews, fingerprints, health screening, and don’t forget about the $100’s/$1,000’s spent to get here legally.

Funny how people value things they have to earn but don't really value things that that are handed to them without cost. The same can be said for immigration. If you waited in line. Headed through the red tape. Argued your case. Worked to learn the language and the culture and the history of your new home. Then your probably going to be pretty proud of your citizenship. But if you took a bus ride to the border and then just strolled across while holding out your hand for gibs, then you're probably not going to care about your new home at all.
