Funny how people value things they have to earn but don't really value things that that are handed to them without cost. The same can be said for immigration. If you waited in line. Headed through the red tape. Argued your case. Worked to learn the language and the culture and the history of your new home. Then your probably going to be pretty proud of your citizenship. But if you took a bus ride to the border and then just strolled across while holding out your hand for gibs, then you're probably not going to care about your new home at all.
