If you truly want this to become a replacement for the subreddit that should not be named, you have to fix this shit fast. The performance / latency on this site is god-awful. I understand you are using CloudFlare to safeguard against DDOS attacks, and I get that this site is a target for the left to hammer, but there is no good reason why the performance and usability of this site has to be total shite when you have had so many people (good people) offer their skills and services (probably for free) to help you fix this shit.

Protip: there are a ton of people in this community (me included) who have razor-sharp skills on building websites that scale, perform well, and have a decent usability experience.

You have provided zero to no instruction on how these people can get involved and help. Thus, you are failing miserably.

Embrace the help. If that means getting on a discord chan or slack chan or whatever and vetting ppl, do it. But this site needs a ton of work to become usable. We want to help. Let us help. Tell us how we can help.

I’d say, the issues didn’t start until the mass exodus from Reddit showed up and if history is a lesson they will do exactly what you’re suggesting.

I do believe this is a good chance to float the idea to you of using your skills to help us create a sister site to this one run on the donations from users. My guess is there’s a shit ton of available funds here that could be put to good use if we had the right techies to create the platform.

Why build an alternative site? We've got something started and the energy behind it. Let's just fix this one. Anyone remember the ACA website rollout? I feel like this is similar. I'm not trying to shit all over the hard work that has already been done. I am grateful this site exists, I just want to improve it, and I think the mods are failing miserably b/c they are ignoring all these great folks on here who have great skills and want to help improve it. Create a process to let them get involved and lets fix this shit and make this site actually work. #MakeTheDonaldWinGreatAgain

They aren’t exactly ignoring you as much as they have a plan that doesn’t include you. My position is, we need a back-up to the back-up as this site could be gone at any time.

Ah, my guess is you broke the rule of “self promoting” by using this site to advertise for ruqqus. Thanks for the lead. I’ll check it out.

I do believe that is different than setting up a non profit site paid for with user donations for the sole purpose of having a back-up platform designed to support the President.

To be clear: I don't have a narcissist perspective. To be honest, I have very little time to contribute b/c I have a demanding job and a family to raise.

My point is there is a much wider community here who can help. Many have offered to help. It all falls on deaf ears, and we are left with a site that takes 30s to load, no mobile option, and usability features that drive people away.

If the folks in charge want to fix this, leverage the community that is ready to help. Post up a sticky and a call for help and whatever process they wish to institute to vet people, but as it stands, ignoring it and discounting offers for help is just a slap ini the face and will lead to people not visiting and leaving thedonald.win to lead a slow, lingering death.

Again, it is management failure....nothing more, nothing less.

I’d like to rebut one more time.

The site was fine until 2 days ago when it got slammed with more customers than the fire Marshall will let in. It was very fast, had few hiccups and plenty of dialogue. Now that the platform has a need to expand they will make a move accordingly depending on their endgame.

If the plan for the site is to grow a viable product for the future, there will be upgrades and they come quickly. This would be coupled with a lack of transparency as to what the plan is and who is making it.

On the flip side, if this is just a 5 year party I expect as little improvement as necessary to make using the site pleasurable. This might be met with taking donations in the near future.

Edit: 40 minutes has passed and the site isn’t lagging anymore.
