No known link just means it could have been anybody. They went into a convenience store last week and passed someone who had been to Iran, then developed symptoms a week later. Who knows? This long incubation period has everyone guessing.
Or it could also be that the coronavirus (or, one that gives a positive result to the test kit) was here before we knew about the outbreak in China. That happened with HIV.
I am glad that the right local actions are being taken, whether they can find a connection, yet, or not..
My guess is the people who are saying they don't know how they got it are hiding the fact that they got it from someone who is here illegally. Chinese have been coming across the border illegally.
Considering it can be active in the body 2 weeks before the individual shows symptoms, it could jump to multiple people, even those who haven't had international travel.
The problem with the CIA corrupted by coup participants, and the CIA's historical demonstrated record of unfettered acts of shenanigans, combined with alternate bad actors (like commie China) and THEIR record of unfettered devious actions, is that it feels entirely plausible that "community spread" is someone releasing the virus to cause a slow panic and torpedo the economy here like it has been in China. All to "get Trump" and keep him from being reelected. Because our own CIA and FBI are chock full of people who view Trump (and republicans in general) as their enemy. Combine that with the Democrats in unison trying to politicize and weaponize the virus against the President...well I'd have the NSA scouring every burner phone in DC to listen for conspirators. If I could trust the NSA, which is hard to do for same reason. (8 years of politicization by Obama and crew) the whole thing is sad and amazing.
