Hi all. I'm 67 years old and have never posted or commented on Reddit or on this site (I do upvote posts I'm impressed with). But I come here every day several times as part of my "check the news" routine and very much appreciate all who contribute to the cause. KAG

You are an American with patient and watchful eyes -- Boomer is just a label.

OK patriot!

Watching the news landscape shift from centralised editors/journalists/media titans to entirely distributed crowd-sourced aggregates of people with a common purpose has been one of the more interesting shifts over the last couple years. It was embryonic before the 'fake news' reared up in 2016 and has really gotten a lot of momentum since then.

You are part of this contribution by upvoting what you feel is relevant and well-crafted - everyone here all helps in their own way. Welcome and thank you!

Welcome to the new site, our new home.
Plenty of Trump supporters are online doing the same thing, getting the news instead of indoctrination from msm. I haven't watched tv news in years, since before Trump.

Hey buddy, not far behind you, retiring this year. I spent four years on voat, seven years on reddit, and a few years on Digg before that. Now I'm here. Welcome to the party, pal!

Edit: arm up, and buy three times more ammo than you think you need. Or at least buy all you can afford.

Similar story. I was a long time lurker but then started commenting in T_D and other posts when the quarantine was put in place. Now I call out commies on r/politics. I’m having fun watching the Bernie Bros fighting against the other libs in the lead up to nomination.

The stupidity of the left fucking boggles me at times. They try to apply to anyone over 35. Lol

14
fnorthrup [S] 14 points ago +14 / -0

Hey "baby boomer" has been around since WWII. Doesnt offend me in the least.

11
TrumpCard1776 11 points ago +11 / -0

Nor it shouldnt, but the attempts at turning it into a slur by the left is fucking hilarious.

10
OhLollyLollyPop 10 points ago +10 / -0

Yet all of their candidates in the lead are effing old white people... some are greatest gen, not boomers.

7
Fabius 7 points ago +7 / -0

I'm 40 and got called a "boomer" the other day. I just laughed. The plain fact is that the "boomer" meme was invented by shit millennials, who are the worst generation in American history, trying to shift blame off of themselves for being utterly useless.
You think boomers are treated bad? Wait until millennials get old. Haha. They're going to fuck up this country so bad it will probably cease to exist.

7
1776-or-1984 7 points ago +7 / -0

I'm a millenial and my generation of entitled fucks is useless.

Weirdly Gen Z (or whoever is after millenials) seems to love memes and seems oddly based. I guess youth counter culture going against the ones before them (millenials) is a good thing in this case.

8
LiberTerrarium 8 points ago +8 / -0

Can confirm, pede buddy. Generation Z is based. Not quite conservative, but definitely libertarian, porcupine types.

2
Trumps2ndScoop 2 points ago +2 / -0

I’m a millennial and most people my age have zero work ethic and are clueless trendy idiots. I had a group of “friends” I went camping with and I couldn’t even get them to agree that taxes suck and the govt carelessly wastes our money like how braindead can you be that you want to pay more money to the govt for absolutely zero benefit then again these losers prob didn’t pay taxes anyway so who am I kidding.

The people who deserve "OK Boomer" are by and large the people responsible for raising SJWs by encouraging their and everybody else's children to abandon all responsibility in favor of demanding more from whoever has it whether it be socially, financially, etc.

OhLollyLollyPop 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is true, but don't underestimate the power of huge D cities and their brainwashing media. The people there never gear alternative opinions. When you get the DNC propaganda every day, you are brainwashed. If you just assume there is more to it, or it's blatantly false, you free yourself.

panama_sucks 7 points ago +7 / -0

politics aside: I'm in my thirties now, and probably heading towards some kind of midlife crisis I'm constantly asking myself how it will be being 40, 50, 60 years old ... do things really change anymore in the way you perceive the world? do you get any new insights or is it much more sobering than people imagine?

edit: thanks for all the answers, appreciate it!

OhLollyLollyPop 8 points ago +8 / -0

You will learn not to panic or be gullible. Most scares in my 67 years have been much less of an issue than advertised.

Oh, many things and issues are cyclical.

moon landing baby here. just always do the right thing, by yourself and others. be kind. you'll be fine. oh and moisturize and use sunscreen.

My entire worldview has been overthrown about 35 years ago when I believed in the Lord Jesus. Since then, I think Reagan was President at the time, the Lord has kept me through thick and thin, ups and downs, up until today. I love Him, and I greatly appreciate our president.

55 here. I think my 30s was when I started to stop caring what other people think about me. The older I get, the more I REALLY don't care what other people think about me. That may not be an entirely good thing, lol.

3
thebassdude 3 points ago +3 / -0

59 here, same thing happened to me. Now my wife doesn't even like me anymore. And I couldn't care less, I've never been more at peace with myself.

time for divorce?

1
thebassdude 1 point ago +1 / -0

Way too late for that. Besides, I wouldn't give her the pleasure.

2
Fabius 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm 41 and my sister asked me the other day if I have late onset autism because I just tell people the truth all the time without any filter.

I told her it's called having a personality.

2
ouvrez_les_yeux 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's what I love about Trump. When someone first asked me what I thought of him (this was before the election) I said, "He just says what everyone is thinking." Now, after all he's been put through, I sometimes I think he is a little too mild mannered!

When “Boomer” is used as a compliment:

Hello there Boomer! Best regards from Europe. Thank you for assisting in the salvation of Western Civilization! We are fighting to keep Europe on its feet - knowing that the US refuses to give in to the false song of globalism is a significant morale boost for those of us under siege!

Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z....you'll find some of every generation here. We all have in common a love of country, support of our president, appreciation of dank memes and even a feeling of family, just to name some of the things that unite us. Glad you're here and happy I finally moved over, too.
