Not sure if there is a suggestions spot somewhere, but clicking on a images and pictures and then having to hit back and wait for the site to reload is really frustrating.
Not only does it take longer to browse content, hitting back forces the entire home page to reload unnecessarily causing more web traffic and server load.
Looks like the site isn't using any sort of caching. i.e. cache-control: no-cache, no-store
And I feel like clicking the title should always take you to the comments page, instead of the article whenever it is an external link. This behavior should be consistent. You never know where you are going to end up.
Just some observations and suggestions. I think a few small tweaks could improve the experience and maybe in the server load. Love the site so far!
Couldnt agree more, the site is good but it is a pain clicking the title and getting sent off site rather than too the thread to read comments, comment and then decide if you want to click to go offsite and read it or not.
Changes are being made on this currently.
I believe we originally had links open in new tabs, but users weren't happy with it. I can make it a setting.
Thanks, the web version of reddit.com handles this really well... click the title and you get the full page with the dark borders on the side... click back or click those dark borders and you go back a screen and you are still cached... no full reload and it is really quick... If I want to refresh I'll click the top logo or f5
