The denialists are saying "the common cold/flu kills more ever year", how do you know? this has only been going for 4 months?? it infects approximately 40% of the population and kills between 1-4% of those. Doesn't sound like much does it? catch it and you have an 99-96% chance of survival. Only one issue, when you expand that to include the critically ill and it overwhelms almost every health care service in every country on earth, add that to the fact and that an epidemic would usually last for up to 2-3yrs, and you start to see why people who work in the field are very worried. In 4 months this virus has entered 40 countries including America, the USA is probably the country with the best health services to control the spread, but China literally has people locked up in their apartment buildings to stop this.
