Right? Whether or not there’s any truth to the “code” or origins of the email, I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone would send such a bizarre email (with all members cc:d).

I have dear friends, associates, and family members that I’ve had conversations with about virtually every topic, but don’t think I’d ever go out of my way to email one of them, copy my brother, my wife, his wife and everybody else there about having heard they ate a rather unusual pasta preparation and wanting to know if it “was nice” and seeking confirmation from his spouse as to how she thought it was as well. Fucking weird.

That is because you would never send this email for the declared reasons they are supposedly sending it.

There must be an "inside meaning" for such a message to be forwarded the way that it was.
