Even if whatever replaces it will at its core retain those most objectionable aspects of craven expansionist and utterly pragmatic Chinese xenophobia, it would at least abolish the last relevant "people's" government. Like the Arab Spring, I highly doubt Chinese Democracy will be any more appealing than Muslim Democracy, or Russian Democracy: but at least a more decentralized shitty government could cover their own ass at the local level without worrying about their virus outbreak efforts leading to a firing squad or a pillow over the face (RIP Uncle Dr. Whistleblower) in their government provided sick-bed. In fact the reverse would likely be true, and giving consideration to ones constituents would be a requirement that politicians would care about when abdication of duty in a hyper-competitive society for reasons of "face" or self-interest would mean at best life imprisonment or Israeli Mossad Style assassinations in non-extradition countries.
If Trump wants to save 401ks rather than kill China, I won't blame him, but I definitely think Patton was in the right before he got offed. Allowing China to weather this storm and play the "no new cases" or "contained crisis" scenario game, all while they wait for the rest of the world to lose its attraction as alternative investment locations, will officially be Trump's version of Clinton's WHO acceptance of China.

The fact is the market needs a major reset and a leader has to think about more than the momentary gains of the market. I agree that China is a problem, but then the FED is a bigger one. I'd be willing to go through a lot of pain if at the other end it means China goes Capitalist and the fed goes to hell. At this point Africa need China more than we do, and India needs us to do for them what we did for china.
Afghanistan has the rare earth minerals, and India is closer than China. Us driving A huge tech manufacturing boom in India and cutting china out of it makes sense at this point. Pakistan will be the go between, and the money flow will do more to settle disputes than anything else could.
China needs a place to send its excess male population, there aren't enough woman. Africa needs people that can come in and mediate and settle there to bring in the first world. Only in Africa is there hope to support china. Only in china does their exist an excess of technical profressionals needed to come in and train the africans and build manufacturing bases.
