Yeah, but I put proxies and VPNs in the same class as gateways. They all aggregate users, although you can join a VPN from anywhere.
I have a VPN that I set up myself. But, the endpoint is my own domain, and identifies me better than any other IP address. So, I only use it when I'm concerned about public WiFi, or outside the country.
