Who wouldnt love to sell weed legally tho?

Edit: cant answer all the people, but I cant wait for it to be legal so I can grow it and help people. Weed has really helped me out a lot, and I want it to do that for others as well.

People who aren't into weed and have other more reasonable business ideas.

I smoke pot and was a manager at a grow for 5 years but I find weed culture & people who assume weed consumption as an identity so damn cringey.

Smoked pot for a few years, I Quit for work and feel much better actually. I was part of the weed culture meme. So cringey looking back on it

Can't smoke pot. The damn thing gives me panic attacks.

If you talked with someone educated on the subject they could tell you which strains would avoid that problem, which would give you whatever you're looking for, and to start with extremely small doses. If smoking, one hit is about 30 of what we used to get; stuff these days is that strong!

Tiny little hit, wait an hour. No joints! Some type of bowl you can snuff out.

Or, leave the stuff alone ... I'm better off with just CBD for pain now and then.

There needs to be more education about the negative effects of weed on some people

Get some weak indica hash and you will have a better experience.

Ever try vaping budder? I find I don't get anxiety from it (used to have panic attacks if someone asked me if I wanted to smoke a joint) and I'm relaxed enough to talk to strangers in public.

Our local pot smoking historian! Lol. We have the most diverse group of people, don't we folks?

Thank you! It's the culture that turns me off. With increased legalization, do you think that culture will dissipate? Won't the "I'm edgy, cool, and anti-establishment" signalling go away once it's no longer edgy and illegal?

I think it will. I know a lot of people who smoke and they are just regular people who likes to relax and would like to not feel like a criminal about it.

What have you got against "the black rifle crowd?" They're the most law abiding people in existence, cops know this.

The people who sell it legally here in Oregon and can barely make a profit.

Calico_fox 18 points ago +18 / -0

I heard about that, it was the state's bureaucratic meddling that fucked things up.

What a surprise. Salem fucks up everything.

That's the truth.

let me take a guess, there's plenty of profit to be made, just that the government wants it all for itself.

Plus its a very labor intensive crop. Like most agriculture, the harvest is tough, but this you need actually an army of edward scissor hands all at once. Edwards ain't that cheap when UnEmployment is in the 3s

Or maybe there's no margin in a commodity anyone can grow in their backyard/closet/windowsill.

2
Barbs 2 points ago +2 / -0

Who grows a six foot tall plant in their windowsill? Lol.

I saw a story about a grower who went legal, and lost over 90% to taxation, only to be under more demand, higher restrictions. American communists have wet dreams about implementing Canada's weed monopolization nation wide.

Why is the legal stuff bad

What % does the black market still get?

1
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 1 point ago +1 / -0

Tough to say. Plenty of people grow their own here but they also enjoy the convenience of buying from the dispensaries. I don't know anyone here that smokes that doesn't buy from the dispensaries.

Black market here in AZ.

Legal weed is GOV weed! They keep records of everything you buy if you have a medical pot card! Plus it's taxed out the ass!

Because it is still illegal in many states to grow it yourself. It has to be sold through a crony capitalist and taxed by the state to be legal.

Vegetable section of supermarket: Hold my potatoes.

3
bh506407 3 points ago +3 / -0

can't argue with that point. if there's a demand, people will supply it.

and we are talking about stoners, I'm sure there's plenty of them that don't feel like putting in the effort to grow quality stuff when they can just go down the street and buy it.

6
mugatucrazypills 6 points ago +6 / -0

Maybe that should be the criteria. If you can't organize yourself to take care of a plant....

Thep1mp 5 points ago +5 / -0

Same reasons they don’t grow their own vegetables or raise their own chickens?

I don't partake but my wife does. On a recent trip to Vegas it was nice to be able to purchase some for her as asking strangers for weed in a large city is a great way to lose money, get laced weed, get arrested, get mugged.

Why, you want some?
