If Bernie gets the nomination he both loses the election hard and a ton of House seats that went to moderate Democrats. With Biden they possibly hold onto the House.
I'm confused. I guess it depends on which way you define "worse".

A vote for Bernie is a vote for a Trump supermajority government. So yes, definitely vote Bernie in the primary if you are in a state where it may matter.

For better or worse, Biden is seen as a safe moderate pick. He performs a lot better with older crowds and with women.
In 2018 a lot of House seats were lost to moderate Democrats. Those are the people who favor Biden. Should Bernie get the nom all those people stay at home or protest vote for Trump.
Happened in 1972 with George McGovern.
The horde of Cubans lining up to vote against the loser who said Castro wasn’t the literal incarnation of Satan himself could blot out the sun. If Bernie gets nominated, he loses Florida. Zero doubt.
The other point is this: he’s a socialist. He calls himself a socialist. He says communists aren’t that bad (and even has a few on staff). There’s enough older people who remember what the USSR was like that want no part of any of it coming back. Even if they don’t normally vote, they would this time, and they’d also take the opportunity to vote for their local republican House candidate
which is exactly why the DNC will never allow Bernie to get the nomination, not even if he theoretically won every single delegate available
