I read an opinion piece about this particular picture about a year ago (?) when it was taken of these Comedy Giants (i use the term nonexistently). Apparently even in 8-zillion population New York City DIMMY Fallon is notorious for being an out-of-control and VIOLENT alcoholic by nearly all the bartenders/bouncers, etc (having been thrown out of multiple establishments) but notice his pathetic PR stunt - he's the ONLY one not holding a glass. If I find that article i'll link it. I hate them all equally. Like journalism, (most) comedy really IS dead - it's just mean-spirited rants (only against conservatives of course).
I stopped watching him after the Leno thing because I go to sleep early for the job I started around that time. I was pretty dumb then, and luckily I am still totally unaware of how douchy he is. He remains the funniest late-night comedian in my mind, and I'll just keep my happy thoughts and never watch him again.
HERE is some comedy gold - growing up in the 70s/80s, whenever watching Johnny Carson I always felt like I was eavesdropping on the 'dirty jokes' at my parents' get-togethers or something but there was NEVER any mean-spirited, callous pettiness to the humor (that I ever saw - it was actual COMEDY. Carson was a full blown democrat but he made it a POINT to remain strictly apolitical on his show for the most part, knowing ramming politics down the viewers' throats would turn them away in droves (are you listening, current crop of assholes?).
Funniest joke I've seen from him is when he had one of his staff take a pic of him in the sea drinking a cocktail by a 5* resort in Haiti protected by a massive fence and armed guards, to try to prove Haiti isn't a shithole.
I think this says more of what's become of comedy than anything. Even if you ignore politics entirely, this is just a group of unfunny self-congratulatory hacks.
a friend/ex-roomMate of mine watches this and r/politics for all of his Info, the amount of shit ive gotten from people who treat these people as gosple is rediculus. at least my ex room mate doesnt "hate" me for it, but still thinks im a nazi, ish.

I never understood the love for Conan. I gave him so many tries but found him so unfunny and creepy even when I was a leftist.
