HERE is some comedy gold - growing up in the 70s/80s, whenever watching Johnny Carson I always felt like I was eavesdropping on the 'dirty jokes' at my parents' get-togethers or something but there was NEVER any mean-spirited, callous pettiness to the humor (that I ever saw - it was actual COMEDY. Carson was a full blown democrat but he made it a POINT to remain strictly apolitical on his show for the most part, knowing ramming politics down the viewers' throats would turn them away in droves (are you listening, current crop of assholes?).
