'authoritarian' is really just what happens to weak people who haven't learned the responsibility that comes with power. sorry to go Full Spider-man but it's true. weak people- or people who think they're weak- don't wield power well. Strong people- or people who feel strong- actually do it very well, they've had practice with the consequences of misusing it. Our founding documents wisely assumed the worst in everyone and planned for a government with flawed humans. That's why I think we might even pass their expectations one day, we have many strong and silent among us who don't come out until it really goes bad.
