BTW I just realized the virus is not called COVID-19, but the "disease" is called COVID-19; and they changed the name YET AGAIN in the last moment from 2019-nCoV to SARS-COV2. So as HIV is to AIDS, SARS-COV2 (aka 2019-nCOV) is to COVID-19

I personally think all these dumb changes are way to foil people's attempts to search for information using search engines

It's similar to how stupid dick Obama kept changing the name of ISIS to ISIL and then to DAESH.,...its to fragment and confuse people so they dont' mount a coordinated information campaign. The gov has this bizarre control freak need to control everything, including information

I'm more of teh aaron swartz camp....information should be free; as in both free of charge and free to deseminate itself; free to be accessed by anyone

Watched a video with subs explaining the FIVE ways "Daesh" was the perfect insult name for ISIS.

It's so people don't realise how long of a lead up there is.

If they started Googling "Wuhan Flu" they'd get articles from 2019, and that's when governments start looking inept.

We got to have all these organisations that don't act to spread the cash around after all!

Yeah there's no reason to keep changing the name. It seems to me that all normal, "unofficial" people have just continued calling it coronavirus.

Barry Soetoro called ISIS "ISIL" because the "L" stands for Levant, which is an historical word to describe the territory where Israel now exists. It was his way of delegitimizing Israel.

Your point is valid, though, that corporatist leftists (and establishmentarians, in general) use language to confuse and scare people into giving up their liberty.

Isn’t this based on the classification that people still have it even when “cured”?
