I realize the radical, counter culture generation of the 60's are too set in their ways to win back but luckily most of them are dying out. However Bernie appears really popular with the younger generation and I understand that today's socialists will grow up and realize the true price of free shit but I believe we can't take this for granted considering this younger generation doesn't even understand what restroom to use (simple biology) and are prone to eating laundry detergent (Tide pods). I ain't about to trust they'll eventually get it right.
So how do we galvanize the youth to turn to strong moral values and an economic system that has lifted more people out of poverty then one can count?
This^^^!!!!
Exactly this!
I don't think we can pin our hopes on religion making a comeback but you are absolutely correct that we must break the teacher union stranglehold. They are terrified of school choice or reform of any kind.
Meanwhile many inner city people are DESPERATE to get their children into charter schools. Fights break out at meetings where they draw a lottery of who goes and who gets left behind.
I would also like to see a revival of home schooling. With technology it should be a more viable option than ever.
Religion doesn't "need to make a comeback." US is a majority Christian Nation, period.
Our system of government simply will not work with a population that isn't moral and religious.
We wonder why students return to their schools to shoot up as many people as they can, after we've made God unwelcome there? Darwin award time ...
In terms of "single issues that keep people voting for wicked, dishonest tyrants", the climate change disaster hoax is perhaps the top of the list.
I think you'd have to do the same as what people have said made them wake up to the realization that they were in a cult.
Be nice in talking to them, and just ask them simple questions where they have to choose between conflicting "truths" that they have never thought through.
An entire generation has been lost. Nothing can be done to change this. People who were raised with participation trophies and safe spaces will have a HARD TIME learning how the world works. They will clamor for "equality" and "justice" their whole lives, never realizing that they really only want to have shit handed to them. I was on the cusp of this generation, and I was well into my 30s before I took a hard look at what life owed me. Nothing. And once I accepted that, it was so much easier to appreciate the things I had, and to work towards the things I wanted.
Raise your children to value hard work, Independence, and kindness.
We're going to need a lot of helicopters
The hippies of the 60's are there CEO's legislators, and senior managers today, getting ready to retire. They are the one's making out like bandits in the systems and governments. The younger hippies will be the same. Thankfully, there are fewer of them than the hippie boomers. I'm a last year boomer, so can't stand dirty, smelly, hippies of any generation.
Fellow '64 model pede here
The generation you're ready to give up on includes DJT. Yeah, we smoked pot, had Feds selling us really high quality acid, tried shrooms, listened to The Who and Jimi Hendrix. We also survived the cocaine laden '80's. We also completely changed health and fitness for the human race! Most of us could kick your ass. I blame it on playing competitive frisbee, lol.
Many of us were raised on depression values. Inherited the sense of the greatest generation. Y'all need to grab some of that by osmosis - seriously.
We got a real education, unlike the CFR induced bs people are disinformed from today. The Mayflower Compact is the single best PROOF of communism's utter failure on this continent, under idyllic conditions. Read it! Be prepared to use the salient points to demonstrate the error of your interlocutor's ways.
Good question. It won't be easy. They have been and are continuing to be heavily indoctrinated.
I say we need to embrace being the new counterculture. We need to support and publicize platforms like this and all sort of alternative media/social media.
We must provide young people with a different perspective. There are two sides to every story. That's what they are so afraid of. That's why t_d was effectively banned from reddit.
I also like cryptocurrency as a gateway to libertarianism/conservatism. People still don't understand how revolutionary Bitcoin is - what it means for the future of freedom - but they will someday.
